Who we are

Novel Productions is at the forefront of the AI audiobook revolution, bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and the independent author community.

Founded by Simon Patrick, publisher at Ten Times Better Books, we exist to solve a problem face by many in the self-publishing world: making professional audiobook creation accessible to every author, regardless of budget.

Our Mission: We believe every great story deserves to be heard. Traditional audiobook production costs have locked out countless talented authors from the fastest-growing segment of publishing. We're changing that by teaching authors how to harness AI voice technology to create studio-quality audiobooks for a fraction of traditional costs.

Our Approach: Education first. We're developing comprehensive courses that demystify AI audio production, walking you through every step from voice selection to final distribution. Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge and confidence to take control of your audiobook creation.

For authors who prefer to focus purely on writing, we also developing done-for-you services, applying our expertise to bring your stories to life while you concentrate on what you do best.

We believe in the 'AI Assisted Artisan Author'

The AI Assisted Artisan Author (A4 for short) is a phrase, and concept, coined by the wonderful Joanna Penn. She describes using AI tools as creative collaborators whilst doubling down on uniquely human elements like personal experience, authentic connection, and handcrafted quality to create work you are proud of and is absolutely 'yours'.

We love her believe that, 'We are not what we do. We are why we do it' and we embrace, often with wonder, sometimes with apprehension, how technology can help get our words into the world.

I call it our 'A4' philosophy because...it sounds cool and is less of a mouthful. (And arguably, A4 paper is one of the greatest inventions of all time*)

We are AI optimists, at least when it comes to publishing. If you're not, and then our courses and services aren't going to be for you.
